What is BYKE Pro?

BYKE Pro is Hong Kong's first MicroInsurance tailored for road cyclists. This coverage plan protects both the cyclist and their bike from potential accidents or bike theft during the cycling trip.

What does BYKE Pro cover?

Your coverage amount depends on the types of accidents and the injuries or damages caused. For more details, please refer to BYKE Pro Policy Provisions . 1a. Accidental Medical Expenses - HK$ 15,000 (For medical expenses paid to Chinese Bonesetter or Acupuncturist, benefit limit is HK$ 5,000 with HK$ 500 deductible per accident.) 1b. Extension of Accidental Medical Expenses : Cover for Bike Damages - HK$ 10,000 (Subject to 20% of total claim amount as deductible per incident or accident; this benefit is only payable if the benefit for Accidental Medical Expenses is also payable.) 2. Cover for Theft of Bike: HK$ 10,000 (Subject to 20% of total claim amount as deductible per incident or accident.) Don't worry. After you've submitted all the requested claim documents and information, we will process your claim with the underwriter and insurer.

Who is the insurer and underwriter of the BYKE Pro policy?

I am a visitor travelling in HK, am I eligible?

Does BYKE Pro have worldwide coverage?

No. BYKE Pro only covers cycling trips at designated cycling routes for now. As we plan to expand our local insurance products to reach the global audience, subscribe to our email newsletters so you can be the first to receive the latest news from us!

Question 6

What are the major exclusions?

The following is only a summary of the major exclusions. Please refer to the policy provisions for more details. General Exclusions: Pre-existing conditions, self-inflicted injury, acts of war, illegal acts, pregnancy, mental disorders, conditions caused by chronic alcoholism or drug addiction, congenital anomalies, accident caused by typhoon number 8 or above or black rainstorm warning, routes not accepted by the Company, sports in a professional capacity or for income, mountaineering or competition. Special Exclusions Applicable to Specific Coverage: Extension of Accidental Medical Expenses: Cover for Damage of Bike: faulty or defective design, mechanical breakdown, wear and tear, maintenance work, hired or leased equipment, repair or replacement of any tires or valves or Accessories, scratches or any cosmetic change, failure to use or maintain the bike in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Cover for Theft of Bike: Hired or leased equipment, replacement of any tires or valves or Accessories, left unattended without any locks, theft by a person to whom the bike is entrusted by you. Is there any waiting period for BYKE Pro policy?

Nope! Once you've successfully purchased the BYKE Pro 10 Cycling Trips Plan and receive the policy confirmation email, your protection is ready for use. To enjoy the protection, press the "Go" button and immediately enjoy BYKE Pro protection for up to 6 hours.

Can I transfer my BYKE Pro policy to others?

Question 9

Can I terminate my BYKE Pro policy?

Accepted Answer

You can terminate your BYKE Pro policy anytime by giving us 7 days’ written notice. Please note that BYKE Pro is non-refundable. For further details about policy terminations, please refer to the BYKE Pro Policy Provisions .

Can I refund my BYKE Pro policy?

Question 11

Can I request my location records to be deleted?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please send your request to rylie@hk.yas.io . Keep in mind that once this data is deleted from our database, you will have to provide relevant cycling data yourself to make a claim.

Question 12

If I have a passenger on my bike, am I still protected?

Accepted Answer

Only the cyclist who is pedalling on the bike is protected. Bike passengers are not protected.

What if I want to change the bike that's covered, or change parts on my bike?

To ensure BYKE Pro can protect your cycling trip, follow these steps and update your bike photos on YAS APP: 1. Go to “Coverage” on YAS APP 2. Select your active “BYKE Pro” plan 3. Under Bike’s Details, tap “Update and upload new bike photos Don’t forget to update the bike photos on YAS APP every time when you ride a different bike. If the insured bike is replaced by a new one or receives any upgrades, please keep the purchase receipts of your new bike or upgraded parts for future claiming purposes.

I've uploaded images of my old bike. If I want to change to another bike for coverage or change the components on my bike, do I need to update new photos to the app?

Yes! Follow these steps and update your bike photos on YAS APP: 1. Go to “Coverage” on YAS APP 2. Select your active “BYKE Pro” plan 3. Under Bike’s Details, tap “Update and upload new bike photos Don’t forget to update the bike photos on YAS APP every time when you ride a different bike to ensure BYKE Pro can protect your cycling trip! You might be required to provide the purchase receipts of your new bike or upgraded parts for future claiming purposes.
